Make a Statement

After you've thought about the overall style of your home, the next step is to make your statement. This can be a feature wall with a different paint color, artwork that is the focal point, a unique piece of furniture, or even a bold fabric. As the name implies, a statement piece is the 'statement' of your space. It's the center feature that everything else in the room is chosen around. Your statement piece does not need to be crazy or bold; it can be as simple as a pillow with an awesome fabric or as intricate as a Louis XVI hand-carved desk. Love this...Thanks to Your Decorating Hotline for this awesome idea.  This red, leather textured dresser is certainly the 'Statement Piece' of the room....and the beautiful red roses accent it perfectly!

 As seen in this bedroom picture, the statement piece could have started with the brown and blue paisley decorative pillow, which is placed in the center of the bed.  From that, other pillows were chosen that are similar in color, and everything else came together (neutral wall color, simple and chic lamps, neutral bedding, etc).
